Easter Along The River

It’s that time of year again!
Four spirited siblings, 12-year-old Ami, 14-year-old Enam, 16-year-old Tafa, and 17-year-old Yao, are buzzing with excitement as they prepare for their annual trip to their hometown in the Volta Region of Ghana for the vibrant River Crossing Festival. Their journey promises scenic views, a colourful stop at the famous flowerpot town, riverside games, and the iconic Crossing Over ceremony.

But it’s not all smooth sailing. Will Ami be able to shed her ‘princess frock’ for the much simpler things of village life? What will happen when Enam bumps into his village rival after last year’s unpleasant encounter? Can Tafa finally unveil his authentic self? Will Yao be able to overcome his feelings of inadequacy as the eldest?

Join them on this life-changing adventure as they navigate personal challenges, strengthen community bonds, and immerse themselves in the rich Ewe culture.

An engaging History, Geography, Travel and Exploration, Socio-emotional development, and Cultural Studies living book. Great for middle grade, young adults, families, book clubs, homeschool spaces, and classrooms too.
