Have you ever been to the southernmost point of Ghana? My friend and I set off with three kids in tow on an adventure to the Western Region to explore this historic and breathtaking landmark—and it turned out to be one of the most memorable road trips we’ve had.
The Journey 🚗
The drive to Cape Three Points is about two hours from Takoradi, but let me be honest: the roads can be pretty rough at certain points. Potholes and bumpy rocky stretches tested our patience, but the journey also had its hidden gems. Along the way, we stumbled upon rubber plantations, which was a fascinating surprise and a reminder of Ghana’s diverse natural resources.
Arrival at Cape Three Points 🌟
When we finally arrived, the reward was worth every bump in the road. Cape Three Points is not just a dot on the map—it’s a place where history, nature, and geography collide.

The Lighthouse Experience 🏰
We took a guided tour that included climbing the historic lighthouse. The climb itself was a little nerve-racking, but the view from the top? Absolutely breathtaking. From up there, the panoramic coastline stretched endlessly, a reminder of the raw beauty of Ghana’s shores.
